The tempo
A beat every 0.545 seconds puts 110 at the bottom of Moderato, right where Andante hands over. It is also the tempo a lot of producers arrive at by accident: start a house sketch at 120, pull it back until the vocal has room, and you tend to stop around here. 110 BPM is moderate. It opens Moderato, sits above the walking pace of Andante, and is well short of the 140 BPM that trap and dubstep are built on.
Amapiano and Afrobeats, most of which sit between 110 and 115; Disco and nu-disco at the relaxed end of the genre; Mid-tempo pop, soft rock and singer-songwriter material. The list is a guide rather than a rule: tempo varies within every genre.
